ABSTRACS
Brake is appliance to discontinue rotation
of an axis by the instrumentality of friction. Mechanism of most fundamental
braking is disk and pad. In course of braking pad and disk will each other
touch so that happened friction and material of the loss each other a number of
weight (wear). However at car commercial of Suzuki product year 2008 early most
of all disk mellowier from at substance pad. In this research target wish
reached is can know disk substance mechanic denaturing after experiencing of
heat treatment carburizing.
Research is methodologi at local disk
material of A22, then the substance drawn up before process of carburizing by
standart (ASTM E 3-81). Process carburizing is conducted at temperature 850ÂșC
with holding time 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 minute. Technique analyse data at this
research is use descriptive statistic. Data yielded to be depicted graphically
in line and bar.
Result of research assess wear after
process carburizing with holding time 150 minute and died by a Water got value
wear equal to 0,6410x10-6 [mm2/Kg], at dying oil got value equal to 1,8236x10-6
[mm2/Kg] and assess of wear before process
carburizing is 4,5934x10-6 [mm2/Kg]. Assess
hardness after process carburizing with holding time 150 minute and died by a
Water got the hardness value equal to 387,0468 [Kg/mm2], at quenching oil got value equal to 349,8542 [Kg/mm2]
and assess of hardness before process carburizing is
191,6566 [Kg/mm2]. From result of inferential research existence of
improvement assess wear and assess hardness after experiencing of process
carburizing.
