ABSTRACT
The palm oil industry other than theprimary products such as CPO, alsoproduces  solid waste (biomass) in large quantities. Biomass of palm is one type of renewable energy that can be utilized for power generation PLTBS (Biomass Power Plant Oil). EFB has great energy potential as fuel for electricity generators. TKKS energy potential can be seen from the value of thermal energy (calorific value) is 18.795 kJ / kg TKKS. Calorific value (heating value) of dry EFB is 18.8 MJ / kg, the energy conversion efficiency of 25%, of the energy equivalent of 2.3 MWe. The results of calculation of all financial criteria is obtainedNPV value of Rp. 65.582.439, IRR 15%, and PBP 4.98 years and thus it processing oil palm biomass to electrical energy isfeasible.

ABSTRACT
The production of biodiesel from residual oil in spent bleaching earth by a two-step in situ process was investigated in this study. The method consisted an acid catalyzed esterification followed by base catalyzed transesterification. Esterification reaction was performed in the presence of sulfuric acid as a common acid catalyst to reduce the amount of free fatty acids (FFA) to less than 2%. The spent bleaching earth were esterified with mass rasio hexsane:methanol 1.5:1 and 1:1,  48 0C temperature, sulfuric acid 1% (b/b) to solid phase and 2, 3, 4 h reaction time. The FFA level 1.04% with 75.0% yield of esterified product was obtained at rasio hexane:methanol 1:1 and 1 h min reaction time. Therefore, it was chosen as subjected to transesterification process by adding 1% alkaline cataliyst (NaOH and KOH) and allowed to react for 1, 2, 3 h. The yields of biodiesel produced in this process were varied between 10.43 to 79.96%. Optimum yield obtained was 79.967% at 1 h reaction time. The characteristics of biodiesel produced were: 9.25 cSt viscosity, 962 kg/m3 density and 0.50 mgKOH/g acid value.

ABSTRACT
Pangasius is one of catfish types in Indonesia. This fish had an economic value as fillets and smoked fish. The processing of the fish had made some solid wastes like bones, liver, and head. On the other hand, these wastes contained calcium and some minerals. In this research, the waste from fish processing would be use to make fish flour. The fish flour was made from bones, liver, and head fish and then analyzed to determine: water content, ash, fat and calcium. The water content in the liver, bones and heads flour, namely 46%, 58% and 64%, ash content of the liver, bones and heads flour was 26%, 38% and 42%, while fat content of liver, bones and heads flour namely 21.6%, 24.6% and 23.4% and calcium contained in liver, bones and head flour was 9.7%, 9.6% and 20.4%. Based on this analysis, liver, bones and head flour had a good quality and met the fish flour quality (SNI No 01-2715-1996).

PERBANDINGAN SISTEM KENDALI PID DAN KENDALI LQR PADA SISTEM SUSPENSI AKTIF BUS (1/4) MENGGUNAKAN SIMULASI MATLAB

A vehicle suspension system must be able to isolate or reduce the vibration of vehicle body due to unevenness of the road surface. To solve the situation as above, it was needed a controller on the actuator (active suspension) to dampen oscillations of body. In this study, it was designed a controller at a quarter of the suspension system bus using control LQR (Linear Quadratic Regulator) and compared it with PID control. This system will be modeled by State Space and Transfer Function models using Matlab 2011. The results obtained were LQR control system was better than the PID. In LQR, the value of ρ was 0.1 and in PID, the value of gain is Kp = 832 100, Ki = 624 075 and 208 025 on the Kd = PID. LQR controller slower reach steady state compared with PID controllers. Stable conditions will be achieved within 30 seconds before the control and after using controller, time of stability to be 3 seconds.

Bagian Administrasi Akademik (BAA – Academic Administration Department) produces many documents every day. Creating document in the wrong way would produce invalid document. During this time, document was created by ineffetive way. As a result, the document did not provide accurate information. In addition, the document had not been standardized, resulting in a lot of forms for the same document. Therefore, it was necessary to provide an application that could automate the creation of documents and archives were well able to manage. By using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Microsoft Excel, requirements of the applications that can work automatically fulfilled because VBA has features that support automating document.
